Pillar 3
Resilient/adaptive built environments
Need
Develop and test the best technologies for reducing the spread of infectious diseases in the built environment. People want confidence that buildings are safe to return to school or work.
Proposed Solution
Long term goal would be to reduce the risk if infectious disease transmission in built environments. This would reduce the closure of facilities and improve absenteeism from common infections. Large cost savings in increase in productivity of workers and school children. We could help design the healthy buildings of the future.
Statement of Work
We can quantify the probability of infection by combing quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) using tracer studies to develop quantitative values based on actual data. On top of sensors (particulate, Co2, Temperature, human movement) we can monitor the risks in real time and take action when needed. We can then rate the safety of buildings on a numerical scale.
