Jeanette is a clinical research coordinator of 7 years and certified patient care technician/phlebotomist of 9 years from Brookline College and Tenet Health in Tucson. She is currently working towards her bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health; A career path that she hopes propels her into working with type 1 diabetic patients. Jeanette has worked in med-surge, cardiac and orthopedic units at Tucson Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital. She has worked with type 1 diabetic youth and their families to provide education on the disease and advocate for the community. For the last 18 years, she worked with medically underserved communities through health education at Mariposa Community Health Center and all the way up to working with the Hispanic/Latinx population of Santa Cruz County to provide research opportunities. As a bilingual clinical research coordinator with the RECOVER Study, she helps the Spanish speaking and underrepresented population participate in research for Long COVID-19. Professional life aside, Jeanette is a musician and singer, a furmom, and devoted 'tia' who lives in Rio Rico where she enjoys life on the border, time outdoors with her family, and enjoys cooking and grilling just as much as eating. She has lived her life as a type 1 diabetic for over 25 years, prioritizing health and education for herself, just as much as for others.
