Felicia Goodrum, PhD, professor in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson’s Department of Immunobiology and Aegis Consortium Pillar 1 Lead, is adding co-editor-in-chief to her list of titles. After more than 10 years on the American Society for Microbiology’s Journal of Virology editorial board, she has accepted the leadership position.

Dr. Goodrum, who is past president of the American Society for Virology, calls the Journal of Virology foundational to the field.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to expand the journal’s sphere of influence,” said Dr. Goodrum, who also is a member of the university’s BIO5 Institute.

The journal explores the biology of viruses by reporting important discoveries and pointing to new directions in research. Among the key issues investigated are virus structure and assembly, viral genetic diversity and evolution, and virus-cell interactions.
